HAND KNIT CLOTHING

"I find the more complicated the pattern, whether it involves a variety of lace stitches, color-work or unusual construction, the more I like it."

Dina taught herself to knit when she was 12 years old and has knitted all her life. She makes intricately patterned shawls, scarves, wraps, and more.

She always has a more simple project on the needles that is easily transported and can be worked while visiting with friends. But at home, she enjoys the challenge a more complicated pattern provides. From socks and sweaters, to tablecloths and pictures, all her free time is spent knitting, with plenty of projects lined up to last through retirement.

Process:

Dina knits the traditional way—with two needles—but has also owned two full-sized knitting machines and an antique sock knitting machine. She prefers hand-knitting, as it is more portable more relaxing.
