MAGGIE BOLT
POTTERY
Maggie has been an artist all her life. Building a dedicated studio after her son Dennis went to college allowed her to to turn a hobby into a full-time career.
Ceramics have always played a major role in her creative life. She hand-builds vessels, wall plaques and figurative sculpture.
Maggie’s other major outlets are collage, mixed-media, watercolor, jewelry, and monoprinting. She makes great use of “clay monoprinting,” a technique of printing on fabric with pigmented clay slip.
Hand-made greeting cards and miniatures are some of her most popular items.
The influence of Asia is very strong in her work, especially in her clay wall hangings, kimonos and clay monoprint fabric “scroll paintings.”
