I have always been attracted to three dimensional art. For many years I was a dancer/choreographer moving myself and other dancers together and separately through space, sometimes connecting, sometimes not.
As injuries started to slow me down, I began to look for another art form that would tap into my passions in the same way dance had. I drew and I painted and even did some print-making. Then I took a workshop in box-making and book binding and realized that I had found an art form with never ending possibilities in which I could totally immerse myself.
A book is like a stage, and its cover is like the curtain. I can fill the “stage” of the book with words or leave completely empty so that others can fill with words. A box is also like a stage. I can decorate with papers and ribbons or images or abstract forms leaving the inside empty for someone else to fill .
